Stretching Your Stash Using Old and New, Mix and Match Products All From The Same Company. To Create Matching Card and Tag For Christmas

Well Hello, I'm back fortunately the water company in my area fixed the burst water main.  But Unfortunately only to break all the roads phone lines and internet cables. So after three weeks and  a lot of discussion and a change of provider I'm here again. Anyway enough about that drama.

So while ive been away the Christmas to do list has started, as card makers we have to be way ahead to give ourselves the time to get them all ready to send. So out come the releases with the amazing seasonal products. Of Corse we enjoy purchasing some new ones every year, but what about the previous years, stamps, dies and stencils.

This is were I made a discovery, not rocket science but didn't give this much thought. Each Company no matter who,  has there own look to their products. So mix and matching with that in mind means you can have a lot more options to use .

So Here's my theory in practice.

6 x 6 " Card Blanks

Connect Glue (Gina K)

Method

Firstly comes the back ground design.

I notice that Weathered Wood and Electric have very similar wood effects in different scales. So I stamped these in Midnight and Stardust then die cut out the smaller design with Infinity dies.

Next I stamped out the Mix and Match Sentiments in Cranberry and Evergreen and Die cut them out using the coordinating die.

Before adding all the embellishments I stamps  out the tree image from the older set, and used the same inks to bring my card together.

I punch a hole in my tag and treaded some twine.
I loved mixing and matching between the colours for the sentiments.
Sticking to a simple colour palette made everything work together old or new.

I hope you enjoyed todays blog from me.
Happy Stamping

Gold and Clear Crystals Sequins

6 x 6" Black  and 7 x 7"  White Square Card Blanks

Method

Firstly make up your alcohol panel, using your alcohol inks and  yupo paper.

I decided to do mine in rainbow order.

I let this dry, then I placed it into my Misti. I placed my background stamp and used the special Alcohol Lift Ink pad to ink up the stamp. I then stamp down on to my yupo panel, Lifted this and removed the yupo  panel and put in my Neenah cardstock. I stamped down to transfer the ink that had been collected on the stamp to my cardstock. I did this technique a few times to build up the ink transferred. Then gentle I dabbed the yupo panel, with a piece of paper towel to encourage more ink to lift. Once this was clear on the paper towel,I gently rubbed my panel to reveal more of the image.

As you can see its amazing how it transfers giving you two backgrounds.

Once I left these to settle for a while I cut them to different sizes and mounted them to card blanks.

I then started to embellish them with the various dies, which i have mixed and matched from different company's. As in the Hexagon and the Happy Birthday dies. I have listed and sequins.

I hope you enjoyed something out of my comfort zone today.

Happy Stamping

How To Incorporate Shapes into your design. Using The Hexagon Thin Frames from Honey Bee Stamps.

Hi There All,
Hope your staying healthy, and enjoying the lovely weather. Today's card is a definitely summer inspired. Bee's are a very big part of that vibe.

Products

Honey Bee Stamps Hexagon Thin Frames
Honey Bee Stamps Honey Bee Paper Piecing Dies
Honey Bee Stamps Paper Pad
Gina K Wild Dandelion Cardstock
Lawn Fawn Black Licorice Cardstock
White Embossing Powder
Speckled Egg Distress Oxide
Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide
Black Fine Liner Pen
Black Nuvo Crystal Drops Gloss
Light Blue Alcohol Marker for Wings
White Acrylic Paint (for splatters)
Glossy Accents (on wings) and Glitter

Method
Die Cut out of the pattern paper various sizes of hexagon frames.

Then die cut the bee's out of black and yellow card stock.

I stick my outside of the yellow bee to a piece of printer paper and then add in the black pieces one by one. Leaving the wings white, ready to add blue marker, Glossy accents and glitter.

Next I stamp out my greeting and emboss in white embossing powder.

Next I arranged the look on the card. If I would do this style again I would do the next thing before this part.

The Next stage was blending the oxide ink in specked egg and splats of tumbled glass and white acrylic.
This would be better before placing down your bees, hexagons and sentiment down.
Finally I added little black dashes from the bee,s. Then nuvo drops to finish my project.

.

Wednesday Weekly Blog for Bumbleberrys featuring Yo, Ho, Ho (Neat and Tangled)

Good Morning My Crafty friends,
Today is Wednesday so its my turn to blog, What a Joy to have the Privilege to use, the Cute stamp set, Yo, Ho, Ho from Neat and Tangled with its  Fantastic Pirate theme. .https://www.bumbleberrys.co.uk/collections/neat-tangled/products/yo-ho-ho
These images are perfect for all those little boy and girl pirates in our lives. Im sure I will be making  many birthday cards, with these delightful images, perfect for that not sure age.
I made this card, only using half of the stamps,

This Card was made in a few easy steps

Step one

Take a piece of Neenah Desert Storm card stock or similar, Then use Versa Mark inkpad to stamp a random background using the map stamp.Emboss this in clear powder.
Then using the incredible Distress oxides in vintage photo, blend over the top. https://www.bumbleberrys.co.uk/collections/ink-pads/products/distress-oxide-vintage-photo
Then using a water spay in your hand, drop water droplets on to the card. Remove with some kitchen roll, after about a minute. Then stamp the word stamp ARRR using the same inkpad.

Then using some pearlescent medium, Paints,Inks, Spitz etc add some gold splats.

Step Two

Stamp out your chosen images, and colour them using your alcohol markers.Fussy cut them out if you don't have the dies.

Step Three

Arrange them on to your background, and add Stamp with sentiment and die cut letters in the word PIRATE, I also used an X. Then use a decorative banner punch to make a border. Then add gold /black Nuvo drops or simular to create a studded look to card.
Thank you for stopping by, please leave a comment, I love to read them,
Crafty Hugs,
God Bless,
