Using Patterned Papers, In A Different Way .To Come Up with The Colour Theme. Using Catherine Pooler Stamps and MFT Paper Pad.

Hello There Crafty Friends,

I'm new to the world of Catherine Pooler, but recently purchased her ink pads in a couple of colours. This time I though I'd try some of her stamps.

I fell in love with the wellies on Blooming Wellies Stamp Set.

Amalgam Ink Pad ( Gina K)

Alcohol Pens ( Any Brand To Match Colours In Your Pattered Paper.)

Gem's  ( Little Things from Lucy's Cards)

Crystal Drops in White ( Nuvo)

Method

Pick out your colour papers that work together.

I Stamped  out the image I wanted to use.

(I choose the wellies with this flower)

Then I match up my  alcohol markers with my patterned paper.

Coloured the image leaving the dots un coloured.

I didn't have the matching die so I fussy cut this image out.
At this point I added the drops to the dots on the wellies.
While this was drying I cut squares out of my patterned paper.

I played around with them on a card blank,
until I found the right placement.

I over lapped the design, and cut off the access.

Next I worked out where to place my sentiment.
I then stamped it with a black inkpad.

I Picked out some coordinating gems.

I place these on to my dried card design.

I hope you enjoy this weeks post.

Happy Paper Crafting

Are You A Clean & Simple Card Maker (Less Is More)

 Well Hello,

I often ask myself this question, the answer though isn't always the same.

I gravitate to the idea of clean and simple, less is more but this can prove tricky.

So over the last few weeks, I've looked at all my cards and placed them in different piles. Good and

Not so Good.( what is pleasing to the eye to me)

This has helped me work out what my style is.

Today's card is as clean and simple, as I feel comfortable with. So card makers go further, to achieve this look. Some like busy cards, our style is unique to us, and is what makes us stand out from others.

No Coloured Cardstock, No Problem! Using You white Cardstock Gives A Stunning Look.

 Well Hello There,

Sometimes we think we have to every coloured card stock under the rainbow, but today i want to show you a beautiful technique which blows that out of the park.

I have simply used Neenah Cardstock 110lb to create the die cuts and a blending brush and my inkpads. I love the soft look it adds to a design.

Inkpads In Grapefruit, Aqua Sky, and Sea Glass. (Concord & 9th)

Obsidian Inkpad (Altenew)

Whisper Inkpad (Gina K)

Crystal Drops In Calming Aqua (Nuvo)

6 x 6 Card Blank (Any)

Method

Die cut all the elements, flowers, bird, and circle out of your white cardstock.

Next stamp the wood grain background in embossing ink, and die cut with infinity circle die.

Leaving the flowers in the cardstock after die cutting blend on your ink colours using a blender brush or tool.

Remove die cuts when dry, and add flower heads on to the base image, then die cut the bird and wings.

Slightly shade the bird with Wisper ink. This ad's  the look of dimension.

Once dry I added a soft brush of Aqua Sky ink with a blending tool.

Stamp out your sentiment in Obsidian Ink, and die cut out with coordinating die.

Then put your images together, on a 6 x 6 " card blank. Adding dimension tape to the bird and sentiment.

Finish off by adding a few drops of the Novo drops.

I do hope you enjoyed seeing this technique.
