Weekly Blog for Bumbleberrys using the Honey Bee Stamps Country Wreath.....Distress Oxides.

Well Hello Crafty Friends,
I hope your having a good start to the week. The weather seems to be keeping us guessing, as to whether Spring is about to arrive.
In the world of crafts, comes the arrival of lots of Spring and Easter Stamps. I am so looking forward to a burst of colour in the hues of lemon yellow, rich purple, and fresh green shoots.  Meaning the season of new life has arrived bring with it, that old friend the Sun.
I've had enough of winter and I sure you feel the same.

Well enough of that, I been playing again with the beautiful, Honey Bee Stamps, Country Wreath.

I haven't done a step by step this week, I have up my hours at my day job by an extra 20. I'm slowly adjusting to not been in the craftroom as often as Id like. But Its a small sacrifices for a well needed break away and extra crafty stash. So please forgive me until I find my feet.
All I can say is i blended the background with my favourite Oxides ink, in Peacock Feathers, Water drop technique and a bit of Acrylic flicking in white. Then Keeping the colour theme to a minimal. I stamped in versafine (Onyx Black) and built up the wreath adding colour buy using the peacock feathers as a paint.
Used Nuvo drops in Caribbean Ocean Gloss.and Punched out a few black butterflys.
Finally I used MFT sentiment stamps to finish of the card.
I enjoyed thinking differently using the wreath, I loved making my first example, with the use of more tradition colours. But I hope you agree this would work in any colour theme.

Wishing you Happy Crafty Times,
God Bless

Weekly Blog For Bumbleberrys using Mama Elephant The Dogs Woof.... and Distress Oxides

Well Hello Again Crafty Friends,
This Cold weather is really biting at the moment, I think we need some warm colours in our lives. So this week I decided to try a different technique, with the lovely The Dogs Woof stamps from Mama Elephant.https://www.bumbleberrys.co.uk/collections/new-releases/products/the-dogs-woof and my Distress Oxides in Wild Honey, Spiced Marmalade,Candied Apple, and Seedless Preserves.

This Easy technique is so effective.

Step One
Stamp out the image and emboss in white, then mask of image and repeat moving up the card each time, until you fill your card. I used Neenah 110 lb card stock cut to 5.5inches x 5.5 inches so it would fit on to a 6x6 card blank.
Once all embossed, you move to

Step Two

I choose 4 distress inks (oxides) but any inks would work, to blend together.
I went from lightest to darkest, then rubbed over with a piece of dry kitchen roll to buff of ink on the white embossed dogs.

Step Three
I die cut a word die, 3 times from black card stock added a mat in the same black card stock, and stamped out a sentiment, embossed it in white on to black card.
Lastly I added a few black sequins.
As I said easy but yet so effective.

This card could be used for so many different occasions, and different colour combo's.
I hope you enjoyed popping over, please leave a comment or ask a question. I'd love to hear from you.
God Bless and Happy Crafting

Weekly blog for Bumbleberrys show casing Honey Bee's Country Wreath

Hi there Crafty Friends,
Imagine my excitement when the boss (Katrina Rudd), posted she was stocking Honey Bee stamps. Then when my DT stamps arrived I was so happy to find the amazing Country Wreath, https://www.bumbleberrys.co.uk/collections/new-releases/products/country-wreath-stamp-set
I came up with a card, and realised that this humble stamp set can be used for all the seasons including Christmas.

Firstly I stamped out the wreath in versa fine in Vintage Sepia.

Then Stamped the bow in the same ink.

then using Pigment inks (Versa Color in 33- pink,34-Orchid, 21-Green, 22-Fresh Green, 135-Hyacinth, 54-brown, 182- Bisque.)
Then I started to build up the wreath.
Using First and Second Generation ink by stamping twice with the same stamp to create different depths of colour.

Then I used a random sentiment I had from Penny black to stamp in the centre.
Using Nuvo drops in Pale Gold, I added drops and Crystal drops.

Finally I stamped the little hearts, ribbon, and blended around the card base.

I really enjoyed building up the wreath and have thought of many other designs to share with you soon.

Happy crafting
and God Bless
Jo
